There's nothing stopping you from putting your age as 14 when you sign up to a facebook account.
Thats illegal. Nice being Moderator.
Likwid could you put it on the website, please.
Lol, it's not illegal to sign up with a different age on Facebook. The police aren't going to come to your house and arrest you for doing it. It's a moral decision to put the wrong age or not.

You are subjecting yourself to online predator attacks at your own risk, later on not being able to blame the enterprise in case you were a victim and lied during the filling of the forms. It is considered illegal, but, besides what I mentioned, nothing stops you from lying about your age. The decision turns, therefore, into a moral one, due to the fact that a law without a punishment is not a law.
Sorry if I got off-topic, but, sincerely, that's my opinion.

Am a bit disappointed it will be only found on Facebook
It's like not a game anymore, but something to dig fame, to earn money, and stuff. Sure, there are fantastic multiplayer and cooperation features, but there'll be lack of Singleplayer / general RPG style gameplay.
Lol, nothing is wrong with what I posted. I simply stated that it is not "ILLEGAL" to put a different age when you sign up to Facebook. It may violate their terms, but it is not considered an illegal action that will get you in trouble with the law in any way. Again, it is up to you and is 100% a moral decision.
Mike is correct. However, if you do not wish to lie about your age, then please do not do so. We apologize to those users who will not be able to play the game on facebook. We may release it on other platforms after a while.
Quicksmasher, no where in my first post did I say that there will be a lack of single player / RPG style gameplay. This is still a Castaway game, and as mentioned in my first post, will still encompass features from the series.

Very good, that's something I'm totally looking for!
What I was originally afraid of was that there would be just Cooperation LEVELS instead of Singleplayer. It would be much better if, for example, you could team up with a friend to play through whole SP.
Also, as I said, I'm new to Social Network based games. I THOUGHT social network games would always be pure-multiplayer (which was what irritated me).
First thing first Congratulations Likwid on starting this big new thing, since it will be definitely harder than creating flash games, so good luck creating Castaway Online!
Now the debates and other things hehe Like Kwikz asked, I also think that if the pet evolved (like in pokemon or other japanese cartoons) it will be great and highly addicting
I dislike the fact taht can be played (I won't say only) on Facebook.. I kinda hate Facebook, cause there are tons of interesting and funny staff to do, but nothing of those aren't productive, its like for wasting time, therm that isn't in my vocabulary But I have a FB account (that I haven't used for half year or so) so I will definitely login back JUST TO PLAY CASTAWAY ONLINE
The other thing with FB is that there are tons of games on it, almost every genre, gameplay, style and other things related to games is published. Likwid I really hope that you have thought more about this big step, cause even if the game Castaway is new (have new features) in flash industry, there isn't released anything similar already on FB.
Someone mention for hacking, spamming and other security issues. I think this won't be a big issue, since the game will be played on FB so there is already some scheme used in the previous games for anti hacking or other bad things.
I truly believed that there will be Castaway online version like MineCraft or Club Penguiins or other online games.. I haven't thought that FB be considered and chosen for this game. What about Zynga? I've heard it will (or its already) separated from facebook?
Looking forward to see/hear/read/guess/ more details about Castaway Online
p.s. about the 13 year rule, well thats European rule for collecting personal info from a children, so any site that has member features should follow this rule.. (*check the big sites Kong and NG*) However, if the person decides to lie about the 13 year rule, just to register on a site, well there isn't any law breaking (no penaltyies or police, or jail sentence) just you *might be banned because of it. But I doubt that big sites (inluding Facebook) is wasting time to find those members. So short therms, if you have an account on Kong or NG, you will be ok to have one on FB as well

Just wanted to clarify a few things about the game.
- As it stands now, pets will "evolve" in some way. You may also create pets with special abilities and appearances by combining their egg with special items.
- We will be most likely going with a turn based battle system (similar to Ultimate Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc). This allows the player time to strategically and plan out their moves. This also allows the user to control their pet's attacks/abilities/movement in battle similar to pokemon.
This also opens up the door for player vs player and a pet vs pet battle in the future.

Sites with social content are appearently obligated to mention that "You have to be 13 years old or older to Register", but it's acutally neither the sites nor the visitors responsibility if the visitor decides to ignore that limit.
Because people below 13 can't really take up responsibility about such things
So neither the site nor the visitor can be punished in any way if the visitor gets caught ignoring the limit (except if the site didn't display the general requirements readable).
