Believe it or not but this sprite was made in this Minecraft Classic server I play on... Its Markus Alexej Persson or Mostly known as "Notch" the creator of minecraft... sprite form Attachment:

size:Its 222x300, 5 layered sprite but the 3 of the layers arnt full of blocks, but the other 2 are. PS:I didnt made it...

Pretty impressive.
There are alot of these Pixel Artists these days mainly on Classic due to the unlimited blocks.
Nevertheless, they still are amazing.
